James Morrison:
“Undiscovered”
I look at you, you bite your
tongue (Idiom)
You don't know why or where
I'm coming from
(I often feel misunderstood for the many
choices that I make. Sometimes, this makes it hard to trust myself and my
choices. I choose what I do very specifically, so I know I can trust myself)
But in my head I'm close to
you (metaphor)
We're in the rain still
searching for the sun
(The object of “you” in this piece refers to my grandfather
who also did things very uniquely. I am always looking to the brighter side
because he taught me that through his actions)
You think that I want to run
and hide
That I keep it all locked up
inside but I just want you to find me
(the “you” in this section refers to those people who judge
me and don’t understand that I have things I am pushing to accomplish. I
created a bucket list and the world will one day see all the adventures I set
out to accomplish)
I'm not lost; not lost, just
undiscovered
(just because I haven’t accomplished everything yet; but
wait because I will)
And when we're alone we are
all the same as each other
(what sets us apart is that some people are more motivated
to go out and LIVE life exactly as they design. I am one of those people and I
hope to bring people along with me.)
You see the look that's on my
face (end rhyme)
You might think I'm out of
place (end
rhyme)
(I often feel I don’t fit in. Now I don’t feel I need to
because my life is as I design and those who care enough to know me will see
that I am accomplishing great things)
I'm not lost, no, no, just
undiscovered
Well the time it takes to
know someone
It all can change before you
know it's gone
(evolution is the way of life. People choose to jump on or
get ran over)
So close your eyes feel the
way I'm with you now
Believe there's nothing wrong
